A Hard Talk About Why You're Failing as a Trader

I'm looking at all the factors that impact supply and demand for a stock.
That's what a merchant does.
If I'm running a bodega in downtown NYC and it starts raining, I start selling umbrellas.
Get it?
So if you spend all your time on technicals, you are missing 90% of the picture.
That's why 1,000 people can read a trading book and 950 of them fail.
Because most not fill in the gaps.
Let me walk you through two examples of my merchant mentality.
Caterpillar (CAT) was one of our best winner in Sultans of Swing Trading in the fourth quarter.
In September, I named it my #1 FOMC stock while it was trading at $441.15.
Did I buy it because of the pending chart breakout above $440?
Yes. But I was looking at other factors like
-The Fed was about to cut rates for the first time in 2025
-Demand for housing stocks was going to rise
Plus, Caterpillar has an Electric Power unit that is critical for AI Data Centers. So it's not Nvidia (NVDA) or Micron (MU), but it has an AI angle.
So I combined my chart analysis with what could make other traders greedy for CAT shares.
That's what being a merchant is all about.
It's about seeing ALL the factors impacting supply and demand.
Not just the usual Candlesticks, Patterns, and Indicators
I went bullish on Bitcoin at $65,000 in early November 2024.
Then on November 12, 2024, I said "the crypto run is on" and predicted Bitcoin would break throuth $91,000 to hit $126,000.
And Bitcoin hit exactly $126,296 on October 6, 2025.
If you were focused only on Candlesticks, Patterns, and Indicators, you would have missed multiple key factors.
Like the fact that a crypto-friendly President arrived in the White House.
And also the fact that Bitcoin has a unique personality.
When it runs, it runs hard.
It's not a sleepy insurance company.
The technical setup helped me enter the trade and make a forecast.
But I made money because I thought outside the box and considered:
-The political backdrop
-Bitcoin's momentum tendencies
-How the US dollar would impact crypto demand
